五行詩や童謡、奇想に富む昔話を集めたナンセンス文学の選集。1974年版。巻頭にはエドワード・リアの五行詩を、リア自身が描いた挿絵とともに収める。ルイス・キャロルの『不思議の国のアリス』の作中に登場する詩や歌を集めた章もある。ハインリヒ・ホフマンの『もじゃもじゃペーター』の英訳やほら吹き男爵の物語が続き、マザー・グースなどに由来する童謡も収める。

This illustrated anthology includes Edward Lear’s limericks and drawings, poems and songs from Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, nursery rhymes, and an English translation of Heinrich Hoffmann’s Struwwelpeter. It was edited by Ernest Rhys, with an introduction by Roger Lancelyn Green. This copy was published in 1974.
