二人が親しくなったのはヴァージニア・ウルフの死後間もない第二次世界大戦中で、当時トレッキーは出版人イアン・パーソンズと結婚していた。本書は1941年から1968年までの書簡を収め、トレッキーの日記からの抜粋を交えながら二人の生活と関係を伝える。レナードの手紙は可能な限り原文に忠実に転記され、トレッキーの綴りには一部訂正が施されている。巻末には索引を収録する。

Edited by Judith Adamson, this volume presents the correspondence between Leonard Woolf and Trekkie Ritchie Parsons from 1941 to 1968, with excerpts from Parsons's diary. The editorial notes state that no letter has been abridged and explain the treatment of spelling, punctuation, dates, and editorial additions. First published in Great Britain in 2001.
