Alan Sillitoe, known for Saturday Night and Sunday Morning and The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner, also published poetry throughout his career. This collection contains forty-four poems on subjects including love, the poet, commitment, Russia, death, and contemporary life, with "Love in the Environs of Voronezh" appearing as the final poem. First published in 1968, this copy is the first United States edition, published in 1969.
