イギリスの作家ヴァージニア・ウルフが1897年から1909年にかけて書いた初期の日記を、Mitchell A. Leaskaが編集した日記集。1990年にThe Hogarth Pressから刊行された英国初版。
本書には、日常の記録だけでなく文章の練習、読書に関する記述、旅の記録などが収められている。収録資料は現存する7冊の自筆ノートを基礎としており、最初の6冊はニューヨーク公共図書館のBerg Collection、7冊目はBritish Libraryに所蔵されている。巻末に5つのAppendixとIndexを備える。Appendixでは初期日記の書誌的説明、人物略伝、新聞記事、削除部分、1899年の文章練習が扱われている。
